I know that if you’re looking at these photos you’re probably wondering “how in the hell is this girl standing outside in late January in this outfit?”
In Louisiana, there is a saying that rings truer than most about our four seasons: “Our seasons are almost summer, summer, still summer, and Christmas.” I never really understood that meaning until this winter. We haven’t had more than a few weeks in a row of actual cool weather. The past week it’s been in the mid 70’s which means pool weather and a happy Kaitlin. I’ve taken every opportunity possible to enjoy the weather including tanning and enjoying the Mardi Gras parades, which was very much needed. So, as expected, my clothes have changed as well. While it does make me extremely jealous to see many of you wearing your faux fur snoods and oxblood coats, I still wouldn’t change this weather for anything. Right now, I’m in a springtime state of mind and I haven’t touched my coats, scarves, or boots in weeks. And yes, I am buying more shoes today. I know you’ve seen enough of those black ones already. You get stuck in a rut, you know?
Are you over the winter months, too?
