J. Crew Sale Event

jcrew1 jcrew2

J. Crew is offering 25% off your entire purchase with code “SUMMER” today through Thursday. J. Crew at regular price is not exactly something I lean towards. I tend to watch for their sales before I ever make the leap. It seems like if you wait around long enough, you’ll catch the perfect sale. I always love to shop it online because the physical store in New Orleans is always picked over before I can get there. I’m thinking about this bracelet and maybe these shorts. What are you grabbing?

Good morning dolls,

Printed pants have seriously become my number one staple. I used to hate printed pants because I have muscular thighs and I always thought they made me look so much bigger than I really am. But, in the past year, I’ve overcome that fear and gave in to the (fabulous) trend. I’ve fallen in love with printed pants. The Old Navy ones I’m wearing (and also wore in another color here & on Lou What Wear) are seriously the most comfortable pants I own. They fit like a glove & don’t shrink (which is always fear of mine!) Plus, they’re insanely affordable at $30. When I spotted this black and white pair, I had to have them. I actually passed on them the first time I saw them and regretted it all night until I went back the next day to grab the last pair!! I love a staple that you can literally wear with every color.

What’s your take on printed pants?

Spring Style in Black & White

Almost every year when the weather begins to get a little better, the sun starts shining a little warmer than usual, and the leaves begin to bloom bright green, clothes start to mimic the fresh blooms and become brighter. This year, it seems that with the spring months have come neutrals and more black and white combos than ever before. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical about the trend before I actually tried it, here, simply because I’m so used to trying to incorporate some kind of color into every outfit. I’m usually not one to ever go with the trends and only wear what love because it’s what I feel most comfortable (most myself) in. I guess it’s something I was raised to think: every single outfit needs color. That statement could not be more wrong!

When it comes to trying the black & white trend, don’t let the drab factor of the simple neutrals get you down. Instead of throwing on a bright pink necklace, opt for red/pink lipstick and a gold necklace (love this gorgeous Bauble Bar one). Instead of going for a bright pair of pumps, try a pair of stripy lucite heels like this pair of Jeffrey Campbells that are actually on sale. I think we, as women, tend to make our outfit decisions a little more complicated than they should be. I just love how the ladies above were able to pull off the trend. I know I said all black and white, but doesn’t Blair of Atlantic-Pacific look awesome in her bright heels? I just had to throw that in there.

Have you tried the trend? PS: Check out Jennifer’s gorgeous picks at www.HauteofftheRack.com!
