IMG_6499Good morning readers,

I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite new accessories. I’ve really fallen in love with all-gold-everything lately & all of my silver items have taken a hard fall into last place. And, for some reason, I had been stuck in a rut of only buying turquoise and baby blue accessories. It must be the spring weather because every year at this time, I always go for the blue items. When shopping, I’ve been asking myself “do I have something of this color?” in an effort to round out my collection and own more colors so that I can change up my look a little bit for summertime. Frock Candy, Poshlocket, Francesca’s, and Brighthouse Baubles are my absolute favorite places to shop for jewelry.

I just can’t help but go for HUGE pops of color, gold, and pave! Speaking of pave & gold, have you entered my giveaway with Poshlocket yet? For full details, click here. You have until this Thursday!

When it comes to deciding what to wear for holidays, I usually don’t care. Christmas, Thanksgiving, and most other holidays, you’ll find me wearing my most comfortable pair of denim and my favorite v neck tee. Where I’m from there’s just no reason to dress up for the holidays. Valentine’s Day is an entirely different idea, though. I’m not sure if it’s the mixture of pinks and reds or just the love that’s in the air. Whatever it is, it gets me excited. My nails are painted pink, my bronzer is replaced with more blush, and my entire wardrobe starts becoming insanely girly.

There’s nothing quite like an entire day being devoted to red, pink, and love. You basically get a free pass to be the most feminine you could possibly be and that’s enough for me. Most times I only care about my outfit for dinner but, this year, I’m going to be all V-Dayed out the entire day. Nothing makes me happier than the thought of it.

Well, maybe a few things: like the fact that I’ve partnered up with NetVoucherCodes to give you the best V-Day deals around. It’s pretty amazing the kind of deals they have up right now. I found this gorgeous pair of Kurt Geiger babies that are over 70% off. I want them insanely bad but they are sold out of my size. I mean, you really can’t beat the deals. Check them out and let me know what you end up getting. I’d love to know how much you saved and what you thought.

Emerald & Cobalt

Now that Christmas is over, I’ve been craving so many brights. My absolute favorite color combination lately is emerald green (the color of 2013!) and cobalt blue. I recently bought my first pair of cobalt pants from Gap on sale for $11 and I’m obviously going a little overboard combining them with everything from leopard to pinks to purples. I just can’t seem to get enough.

While neutrals are always an easy option, I’ve been trying to make myself step out of the box in an attempt to rethink my entire wardrobe and come up with new ideas instead of shopping for new clothes entirely. Besides, I’m a little over the gloomy weather in New Orleans and nothing, I mean nothing, can improve your mood like brights.

Seriously, go in your closet and pull out your favorite bright pair of pants or skirt. Then, start playing with your options. Break the rules a bit – think Blair Eadie / Carrie Bradshaw.

Tag me in those color combos on Twitter or Instagram using #secretivestyle! I always love to see what you come up with.

PS: Aren’t those Vita Fede bracelets AH MAZ ING?! Hey, a girl can dream.
